About Mercy
Who Is Mercy?
In 2011, when we went to visit Mercy for the first time, she was very ill to the point of needing assistance in maintaining her posture. However, she was very excited to see everyone. When we walked in the room, her smile lit up her entire face, and ours. Despite all that she had endured through her illness, she was always so grateful and always remained full of hope and joy. Throughout her life, Mercy never lost hope, and she always had a smile despite her circumstances. She had a dream to one day become a doctor and to bring change to this world. She taught us that regardless of what life brings our way, we always have a choice to smile--a choice to live every day with hope for a better tomorrow.

In May 2015, Mercy succumbed to her medical complications and passed on at a young age. She remains an inspiration to us all, and her story is a powerful testimony of God's mercy and grace in our lives. Through Mercy's Smile, we want her legacy to live on. We desire to share her love, smile, and hope with other children and families. We strive to bring God's plans for a hope and a future to Kenya, one family at a time.
